To ensure the best possible results, please read through the following eligibility guidelines prior to booking in for a cosmetic tattoo treatment:
1) You must be 18 years or older
2) You must not be pregnant
3) If you are breastfeeding, we advise that you consult with your GP first. Due to the anaesthetics entering your body and milk supply, you will be required to "pump and dump" for 48 hours after the procedure.
4) Please be aware you cannot donate blood for 6 months after your tattoo
5) You cannot get a cosmetic tattoo if you have recently been on Accutane. If you've taken a 10mg dose, wait at least 6 months before treatment. For a 20mg dose, wait at least 12 months. Higher doses may require even longer for the skin to return to its natural state before procedures can safely proceed. Accutane alters skin integrity and can impact the outcome and retention of healed results and colours if procedures are conducted prematurely.
6) If you are currently on thyroid or hormone medication your cosmetic tattoo may fade faster than usual and the colour may be affected. While treatment can proceed, please consider this when scheduling appointments. You may require additional touch-up sessions to maintain the freshness of your cosmetic tattoo.
7) If you have any allergies, please contact us directly and let us know
8) If you have diabetes, it must be low risk and controlled with medications. Uncontrolled diabetes can affect your immune system, complicate the healing process and make you more prone to infections. You can still have the procedure done, but you must obtain a clearance letter from your GP and bring it along with you to your appointment.
9) If you are on blood thinners, please consult with your GP and make sure it is okay to stop them 48 hours before your treatment. This is to avoid any excessive bleeding around the area, which can lead to poor colour retention and affect the healed results. If you are taking fish oil, you must stop for 1 week before your cosmetic tattoo appointment.
10) If you have had Botox in the brow area, you must wait 2 weeks for it to settle before your cosmetic tattoo. For lip filler, we advise letting it settle for 4 weeks before booking in your lip blush appointment.
11) We cannot perform a cosmetic tattoo if you have Epilepsy and have had a seizure in the last 2 years.
12) Antibiotics such as Doxycycline and Tetracycline must be stopped at least 2 weeks before any cosmetic tattoo treatment.
13) Please be aware due to the safety of your skin, we cannot tattoo over moles.
14) Please wait at least 3 weeks after a chemical peel to have any cosmetic tattooing done.
15) If you have eczema, dermatitis or skin conditions on the area to be treated, please send us a photo so we are able to assess
16) We cannot perform a cosmetic tattoo procedure if you are currently undergoing chemo or cancer treatment as your immune system can be affected.
17) If you have an existing tattoo, you MUST send us photos for approval prior to booking in so we can assess whether we are able to go over it. Please note that "touch up" prices only apply to existing clients of Perfect Brows. When going over another artists work, as we are working with an existing tattoo it takes more time, effort and usually requires colour and shape correction.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
1) Strictly NO alcohol, drugs (narcotics), pain killers (aspirin or ibuprofen), caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks, pre workout) for 24 hours before your appointment. These will thin your blood and cause excess bleeding during the treatment and will negatively impact your healed results.
2) For lip blush - as we are tattooing the area and creating "trauma" to the skin, if you suffer from cold sores it is likely to cause an outbreak. If you get cold sores less than once a year, you can purchase a set of tablets called "Famvir" from your pharmacy and take them on the morning of your appointment. If you get cold sores regularly, visit your GP and get a prescription for stronger anti viral tablets to be taken a few days before and after your appointment. This will minimise the risk of an outbreak and make sure you have the best retention and results.
3) Do not wax/tweeze or remove any brow hair 2 weeks prior to your appointment. During your consultation with us, your brows will be shaped accordingly. For the most natural results, we need as much hair around the area as possible.
4) Do not tint, dye, henna or laminate your eyebrows for minimum of 2 weeks prior to your appointment. These products can alter your skin which may affect the healed result.
5) Please stop using any face tanning products, no heavy sun exposure (avoid sunburn), Glycolic Acid and Retinol products 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
